The full moon is the perfect time to let something go. To release what is no longer serving you. To shed that something that is no longer fulfilling in your life. The full moon was on Saturday the 23rd.
Mercury was in retrograde from Jan 5th through the 25th and goes direct again today on the 26th. During the time Mercury is in retrograde, your technology can go wonky, your car can die, you may miss something important, you could lose things, you could even make some poor decisions. It’s best to sign a new contract or make big life decisions when Mercury is direct.
Did you notice anything wonky happening in your life during this time that Mercury was in Retrograde? Did you release anything on the Full Moon on Saturday?
For me it was my car. My dear Silver Bullet that was with me for 12 years. It was finally time for me to say goodbye to my Jeep Liberty.
My 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited died on me as I was driving home to St. Pete, FL from a day paddle boarding at Caladesi Island. In mid drive, my Jeep stalled and I steered it off the road and waited for a tow. When I towed it to my mechanic the diagnosis was computer failure. Go figure… Mercury in retrograde is at it again.
I had bought my Jeep in 2004 in Hawaii, shipped her to California in 2006 and drove her to Florida. She was faithful and reliable for 12 years and 130,000 miles.
She was with me for my scuba diving adventures, she hauled me, my friends, and my gear to paddle boarding and yoga retreats, she carried me laboring to the hospital when I was pregnant with my daughter and she carried my baby safely home from the hospital. She had been with me for some of the most important times in my life. But now it was time to let her go…
It can be so difficult to let something go that has been with you for such a long period of time. But when we can let something go, we can allow something new and beautiful to come into our lives.
With lots of gratitude and great compassion, I said goodbye to my Jeep.
I said hello to my new car.
A 2016 Honda CRV-EX. It’s beautiful, comfortable, easy to drive, great on gas mileage and has many fancy upgrades. I am soooo in LOVE with my new car. It’s even better than I could have imagined. Now I know why my Jeep broke down. It was time to let something even better into my life.
And my daughter loves it too!
Having this new car is opening up so many other new things in my life as well. New opportunities (now I can drive for Uber because my car is new enough!). New relationships (I met some wonderful people at the dealership!). And a new sense of Freedom (I’m not worried about my car breaking down when I leave my house each day).
It really feels so dang good!!!
What is something in your life that you are ready to let go of?
A thing, a person, a career, a feeling, a habit, a story.
Just think of the new and amazing things that you can let into your life if you could just let that one thing go…
That’s where the magic can happen.
Have a great week.
